For precise engine installation in bus construction

For an international bus manufacturer, Genkinger developed a customer-specific engine manipulator for the installation of complete engine blocks in confined spaces.

The challenge was to position engine blocks weighing up to 3,000 kg with millimetre precision at the intended suspension points. To do this, the load had to be precisely aligned both horizontally and vertically.

The special solution has a load capacity of 3 tons and is designed for large load centres. A specially developed lifting unit with hydraulically tilting and swiveling forks enables the engine block to be positioned precisely throughout the entire assembly process.
